Falound kalan is a village in Sangrur district of Punjab, India. ==History== The name of the village came from the foundries that used to melt iron (Folad) for the state of Malerkotla.There was a big mound nearer to Chupka village in the administrative land of Falound khurd that could have testified to this fact. Falound is a village that has almost all the castes to be known that live harmoniously together as it is Baba Gajjan Shah ji's vision that all must live together whatever be the creed, profession,faith,position etc. A terrible person known as Nannu Mal of Sunam used to usurp the property of other weaklings. In the ancient days this area was called "Banger" as its dialect was different from central Punjabi.This man was terror and he was requested to shun this plundering,and not to indulge in these nefarious activities.With his religious foresight Baba ji made him realize that he is wrong and this plunderer bowed before the spiritual power and left all the unlawful activities. Falound kalan is on Ludhian-Malerkotla road hardly four Km away from a place known as ROHIRA where Ahmed Shah Abdali had fought a historical war with Sikhs in which more that 20 thousands men were killed and a large number were injured. The Govt. of punjab has started commorating the anniversary for the last two decades.This battle has significence in the history of Malerkotla rayiast. In 1947 partition time those men who had entered into the boundary of this village were not killed nor harmed. The Nawab of Malerkotla SHER KHAN had opposed the killing of younger sons of 10th master Sri Guru Gobind Singh at Sirhind .This is known as "Ha DA Nahra"(Voice aganist oppression).The Sikhs feel that Guru Gobind singh has pardoned the Nawab. In lieu of this Malerkotla city was not displaced.A swarm of humanity, men. women, children, animals etc had descended on this city for protection during the days of partition. Since 1884 samat almost twelve years before Baba Gajjaan Shah ji(1734-1839) left this mortal world for his heavenly abode, he had started "LOHRI" fesitval celebration where the Sadhus in large number used to assemble . The scholars of Sanskrit from far and wide who had made wonderful contribution to AYURVEDA Medicine were honoured by Baba ji in cash and kind This tradition is still continuing as it was made compulsory to give them due respect by the followers of baba ji known as "MAHANT". The rural Sports are organised by Young Farmers Club Regd. .It was started in 1951 by Master Ram Sarup. The events of Kabbadi,Football , Volleyball and wrestling, Tug-of -War are some of the known sports. The local artists sing religious-historical songs to add additional farvour to the "LOHRI" mela. Since 2015, Mr. Bal Anand , I.F.S (retd) who belongs to Falound Kalan, has commenced a prize consisting Rs 11,000/- and a citation for a renowned author in the memory of his grandfather Baba Paramtam Nand , an Ayurveda wizard who had penned down life history of Baba Gajjan Shah. Had he not written this hagiography of the Great Saint Guru, the future generations would have groped in darkness .The history of this village is replete with numerous' anecdote' as it is epicentre of spiritualism, righteousness and humanity. Majority of the villagers have served in Indian Army,even Subadar Dalip Singh had participated in WW II in Medical unit,60 Para Field Ambulance. In 1944 he was with Peace Keeping units in Korea and his interpreter was a Jew.Besides this, its population is widely educated which have produced Administrators viz. Sh Bachitter Singh I.R.S .(retd),Sh. Jagtar Singh P.C.S.(allied) and educationists such as Masters, physical education teachers. One can find men from foreign services to Indian postal department in this village. It could happens as Baba Gajjan Shah preached mutual tolerance,sagacity and Humanism .
